Rochester Burger King catches fire

The Burger King restaurant, at 2723 Beck Drive, Rochester, is closed following a grease fire Friday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, the Racine County Communications Center received a phone call at about 1:05 p.m. today, reporting the fire and saying employees were evacuating the building.

Firefighters from Waterford and Rochester responded, and reportedly put out the fire quickly. The release said the damage was confined to a small area, but that there is water damage from fighting the fire. A dollar amount for the damage is unknown, as is when the restaurant will reopen.
