A 24-year-old Burlington man was killed just before the Fourth of July weekend in a car crash in Waukesha County.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Cody Webb – a 2010 Burlington High School graduate – died when a car driven by 28-year-old Maria Moore of Menomonee Falls hit a tree stump in Sussex at about 11:40 p.m. on June 30.
Both Moore and Webb died at the scene. According to Waukesha County Sheriff’s Lt. Phil Carini, both were also wearing their seatbelts.
Waukesha County Sheriff’s Capt. Patrick Esser said speed was believed to be a factor, but that the crash was still being investigated and no further information was available.
