ARTHUR P. MAYER

Easter Lily      Arthur P. ‘Art’ Mayer, 69, Burlington, died July 14, 2016, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.

He was born Sept. 17, 1946, in Chicago, to the late George J. and Edith C. Mayer. He grew up in Wilmette, graduating from New Trier High School in 1964.

He was a salesman his whole life. He was a local business owner of Bargains Galore, Variety Sales and Wisconsin Ergonomic Systems. Art had a great love for his family and many friends and enjoyed going out for lunch at Town Fryer. He loved living on the lake, cooking, dancing, boating, traveling and sports, especially the Bears and Cubs.

Survivors include his best friend and long time companion, Jane Aylward; brothers, Nick and George Mayer; an aunt; nieces; nephews; great nieces and nephews; many cousins and his three cats, Buddy, Boots and Buffy.

A special thank you to Dr. Randy Schmidt and Jennifer Bousman at Burlington Clinic, Dr. Stephen Kmecak, Dr. Bennett Pastika, Dr. Nicholas Otten and all the RNs, LPNs, nurses aides and staff at Aurora Hospital and the Aurora at Home Hospice staff who all took such good care of Art.

Memorials to Lakeland Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1000, Elkhorn, WI 53121 would be appreciated.

Services are Sunday, July 24, at 2 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with the Rev. Dan Vojta officiating. Burial will be private.
