Show is a spoof of popular Harry Potter series

After hitting the Haylofters’ stage with the first of the Harry Potter spoof shows, “Sally Cotter,” two years ago, the theme is back starting this week.
The Young Haylofters open with “Sally Cotter and the Prisoner of Ala Katraz” Thursday at 7 p.m.
Show dates are Aug. 11 through 14 and Aug. 18 to 21. Thursday, Friday and Saturday night shows are at 7 p.m., while Sunday shows are 2 p.m.
Tickets are $8 and available at The Coffee House at Chestnut and Pine, online at thehaylofters.com or by calling the theater at (262) 763-9873.
Paula Lovrine, who directed “Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone” two years ago, and is back with “Prisoner of Ala Katraz,” said that local youths couldn’t wait to get a shot at the sequel.
“Almost all of the kids involved have read the Harry Potter series several times,” Lovrine said. “This play gives them the opportunity to connect with characters they really enjoy in a fun way.”
The show is double-cast for the most part, with most of the leads switching performances out with another actor. Jenna Grieger and Quinn Turke are splitting the title role, while Ella Turke and Maggie Squires are splitting time as Harmonica.
Tyler Adam plays the lead villain, Lord Murderdeath, for all performances.
Working with Lovrine are Jess Smith as a student director, AnneMarie Lovrine as producer and Natasha Dunn and Renee Grieger as assistant directors.
