SHIRLEY I. FERBER

Easter Lily      Shirley I. Ferber, 81 Burlington, died peacefully in her sleep Aug. 11, 2016, at Arbor View Community, Burlington. She was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 31, 1934, to the late Bernard and Dorothy (Schwade) Pollock.

After high school, Shirley met a nice boy named Mike at a dance. She and Myron ‘Mike’ Ferber were married on June 13, 1953, and they were blessed to have three children, Barbara, Alan and Debbie. Shirley and Mike owned Ferber Farms in the Waterford area and Shirley was an amazing partner to her husband. They both loved dairy farming with their son.

Shirley loved the Green Bay Packers, snowmobiling and playing the accordion, but her favorite activity by far, was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Waterford.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Bennett, Burlington, Alan (Barbara) Ferber, Somers, and Debbie (Gary) Latus, Naperville Ill.; grandchildren, Lisa (Frank) Grzesk, Shannon (Michelle) Bennett, Tiffany (Nickolas) Hanna, Mandy Ferber, Jaymie (Dan) Jorgenson, Geena (Pablo) Palos, Nicholas (Betsy) Latus, Kyle (Nikki) Latus; great-grandchildren, Frankie, Charlotte, Evelyn, Violet, Anthony, Andrew, Olivia, Jack, Hudson, Bridget and Brody; her sister, Lois Stitch, Milwaukee; and sister-in-law, Audrey Wigand, West Allis.

She was further preceded in death by her husband in 2011; son-in-law, Scott Bennett; daughter-in-law, Laurie; and sister-in-law, Myrtle Ferber.

Funeral services are Thursday Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 145 S. 6th St., Waterford. Visitation is Thursday at church from 10 a.m., until the time of services. Burial will follow in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to either Arbor View Assisted Living or to the family would be appreciated.
