JOHN M. HAMRIC

Easter Lily      John M. Hamric, 86, Burlington, died Aug. 19, 2016, at Aurora Lakeland Hospital, Elkhorn. He was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Charleston, W.V., to the late John and Deta (Guthrie) Hamric.

His early life was spent in West Virginia where he graduated from high school. He earned his BS in Chemistry from West Virginia University, Morgantown. He served in Korean War as a 2nd Lieutenant.

On May 27, 1956, he married Janet E. Crooks in Fairmont, W.V. Following marriage they resided in Cincinnati, Ohio, before moving to Burlington in 1969. John worked in sales for Allied Chemical, Foster Forbes Glass and Fremont Industries. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and a former board member of the trustees. He was an avid golfer, talented landscaper and an animal lover. The family would like to think he and his dog, Petunia, are in the garden in heaven together.

Survivors include his wife; children, John (Paula) Hamric and Kim (Randy) Wessinger; sister-in-law, Cecelia Hamric; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by a brother, Frank.

Memorial services are Saturday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m., at Plymouth Congregational Church. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m., at the church.

The family has suggested memorials be made to Plymouth Congregational Church or your local Humane Society. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
