JOHN WIEMER

Easter Lily      John ‘Jack’ Wiemer, 86, Burlington, died unexpectedly at his home on Aug. 18, 2016. He was born in Burlington on July 23, 1930, to the late Bernard ‘Red’ and Helene (Mattison) Wiemer. He spent his entire life in Rochester and graduated from Burlington High School.

He enjoyed gardening and took great pride in his dahlias and gladiolas. He loved traveling to all the different state fairs, enjoyed hiking and antiquing. He was well known for the wonderful fudge he made during the holidays.

Survivors include his brother, Clarence ‘Shine’ Wiemer; brother-in-law, Ray Epping; nieces and nephews, Jan (John) Eckerman, Jill (John) Finger, Sue Epping-Tomaso, Michael (Joanne) Wiemer and Douglas (Diane) Wiemer; and grand-nieces and nephews.

He was further preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Epping, and sister-in-law, Nora Wiemer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Waterford. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Sept. 24, from 10-10:45 a.m. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
