Career night set for Wednesday at Union Grove

Union Grove Union High School has opened its annual Bronco Business and Career Expo to area students.

The expo is Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at UGUHS, 3433 S. Colony Ave. in the gymnasium.

Career and Academies Coordinator Stacey Duchrow at Union Grove was excited about more students getting to experience potential careers and the links between businesses.

“We think it’s cool. We think it’s a cultural shift,” Duchrow said. “Businesses to education is a new trend.”

Students are getting to discover more about careers at a younger age, and Duchrow added that the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction will require an academic and career plan for all students as of next year.

“They’re wanting us, as high schools, to work with students to identify career paths,” Duchrow said. “They want them to identify interests, they want them to do self-discovery.”

All high school students from the area are invited to attend. For more information, contact UGUHS at (262) 878-2434.
