Officials to present costs, concepts prior to Nov. 8 referendum
The City of Burlington and the Burlington Community Pool Board will host a public information session Wednesday, Oct. 5, regarding the new pool proposal that is subject of a Nov. 8 advisory referendum.
The session will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burlington High School auditorium/commons area, 400 McCanna Parkway.
City residents who would like more information on the proposed pool and referendum, which seeks advice from voters on whether to borrow up to $5.4 million to finance the project, are invited to attend.
Organizers said the session will begin with a presentation featuring representatives from Ayres and Associates – the firm hired by the city to design the pool – as well as officials from the city and Community Pool Board, which is the volunteer organization that manages the pool. An open house format will follow with the same representatives on hand to answer questions from residents.
A second and final public information is scheduled at the same site on Oct. 26.
The Pool Board has established a website providing information about the pool proposal and the referendum at burlingtoncommunitypool.org.
