The Burlington High School boys basketball team wasn’t looking for revenge at home against Lake Geneva Badger Friday night.

Honest.

The Demons got it anyhow, holding the Badgers to single-digit scoring in each of the four quarters in avenging a loss to Badger earlier this season, winning 64-24.

BHS improved to 10-2 in the Southern Lakes Conference with the win and 12-6 overall.

“We didn’t do anything different,” said BHS coach Steve Berezowitz in terms of his team’s game plan. “It was trying to play fundamental basketball. And we did that.

“We just did that with solid defense and rebounding the basketball.”

The Demons led 26-10 at the half and 46-18 after three quarters of play. BHS had just two players in double figures – Nick Reda and Carson Biedrzycki with 10 each – but eight players scored at least five points for BHS.

Badger, meanwhile, had two players with six points apiece – Jacob Growel and Ian Weber.

In other action Friday night, the Waterford boys downed Delavan-Darien on the road, 55-36, while the Union Grove girls beat Elkhorn 65-59.

“Right now, it’s trying to continuously get better,” Berezowitz said.
