Waterford students safe after ‘not credible’ threat

BREAKING_NEWS

Waterford Union High School Superintendent Keith Brandstetter said a Snapchat threat made Wednesday has been dealt with appropriately.

Brandstetter said he was made aware of a student statement on Snapchat late Wednesday, and involved the Racine County Sheriff’s Department to investigate.

He said Friday that the sheriff’s department called them early Thursday and deemed the threat not credible.

“School went on as normal,” Brandstetter said.

Information on who the student was and disciplinary action being taken would not be released, per school policy, Brandstetter said. However, he said students were safe.

“Those things happen,” he said. “We deal with them and move on.”
