Mary L. Uhlenhake, 85, Burlington, died Nov. 26, 2016, at Waterford Senior Living Center. She was born Feb. 15, 1931, to the late Edward and Lucille (David) Martin in Burlington. Her early life was spent in Burlington where she graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
On April 14, 1951, she married the late John ‘Jack’ Uhlenhake at St. Charles Catholic Church. Following their marriage they resided in the family home on Wheatland Road. Jack died May 12, 2014.
She was member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was active in St. Ann’s Women’s Group. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was excellent in the kitchen, her specialty was baking. She loved her family and cherished the time she had with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Vicki (Woody) Freitag, Elkhorn, Margaret Lynn, Thorp, Edward (Colleen) Uhlenhake, Richland Center, Greg (Kris) Uhlenhake, Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois Spiegelhoff, Lettie (Gus) Umnus, Jean Kerkman, Jim (Carol) Martin, Tom (Barb) Martin, Jerry (Nancy) Martin, Dick (Shirley) Martin, David (Corrine) Martin; other relatives and many friends.
She was further preceded in death by her siblings, Jack, Don and Bill Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 30, at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. James Volkert officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, served the family.
The family has suggested memorials be made to St. Charles Catholic Church.
