JOYCE M. VOHS

Easter Lily      Joyce M. Vohs, 91, Burlington, died Nov. 28, 2016, at Pine Brook Pointe. She was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Racine, to the late Fred and Anna (Clausen) Bauman. She was a lifetime resident of the Burlington area where she attended school, graduating from Ag School in Rochester.

On April 7, 1945, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burlington, she married Robert O. Vohs. They made their home in Burlington and enjoyed 69 years of marriage before Bob passed away on Nov. 2, 2014.

She was a homemaker and mother to five children. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was active with the St. John’s Mission Society, St. John’s OWL and was a leader in Lutheran Girl Pioneers for many years. She enjoyed sewing, camping, family vacations and babysitting for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Paul (Carolyn) Vohs, Beloit, Doris Vohs, Forsyth, Mo., Carol (Wayne) Amborn, Burlington, Joan (Russ) Wagner, Appleton, Nancy Vohs, Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolee Vohs; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Braatz and Lorna Vorpagel; grandson, Mark Amborn, and granddaughter-in-law, Ange Vohs.

Services are Friday, Dec. 2, at noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is at the church on Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
