HIERON B. BAUMAN


Hieron B. Bauman, 96, Burlington, died Feb. 16, 2012, at Pine Brook Pointe.

He was born Oct. 20, 1915 in Burlington, to the late Bruno and Emma (Reesman) Bauman. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School.

On Oct. 27, 1937, at St. Charles Catholic Church he married Mary Agnes Ebbers. She preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1998.

He had been a dairy farmer for 50 years and later worked for 10 years at Wisconsin Electric, retiring at 70. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was the treasurer and recording secretary for many years. He loved playing cards and had belonged to many card clubs over the years. He enjoyed his rose garden and woodworking, making carved rocking horses, bear doorstops, toy chests and hope chests.

Survivors include his children, Bruce (Joyce) Bauman, Burlington, Tom (Karen) Bauman, Burlington, Larry (Sandy) Bauman, Lyons, Marie Blais, Park Forest, Ill.; son-in-law, Tony Mich, Paris Township; 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was further preceded in death by his daughters, Dorie Klein and Jeanne Mich; granddaughter, Mary Bauman; great-granddaughter, Harley Klein; and son-in-law, Sam Blais.

Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon with funeral services at 12:30 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve Amann will officiate. Burial will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery following the service. Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, Burlington, is serving the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Charles Catholic Church are suggested.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Paul Webber, Odyssey Hospice, and to the staff at Pine Brooke Pointe, especially Mary Pierce for all their care and compassion.
