He is expected to recover. His wife was treated for minor injuries at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Racine and released. She was then arrested and charged, and taken to the Racine County Jail, where she is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

The incident remains under investigation.

According to a press release from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department earlier this morning, deputies responded to an apartment on West Street at 12:05 a.m. for a rescue call. A man had reportedly been shot in the stomach by a female.
