JAMES L. BLIGHT

      James Lawrence Blight, 65, died unexpectedly on Dec. 23, 2016. He was born Feb. 21, 1951, to Donald and Ruth (Ably) Blight.

He went to Waterford High School and afterward he served our country. He was a photographer in the Navel Air Force from 1969 through 1971.

A few years later he met the love of his life, Therese ‘Terrie’ Nagel and they were married Sept. 9, 1978. He was a hard worker. He was employed at the Home Depot Met. He was a volunteer for the Tichigan Fire Dept. for 35 plus years. He was also the proud owner of Waterford Soft Water for 37 years.

He loved taking care of his yard and putzing around the house. He lived for Friday night fish fries. He was most known for his generosity and his willingness to help people.

Survivors include his loving wife; children, Ryan Blight and Nichole Blight; grandchildren, Zaiden and Bently; his mother; his in-laws, Blackie and Ruth Nagel.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of James’ life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Ray Seidel building located in Whitford Park, 625 N. River Road, Waterford. The family welcomes you to visit with them from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a memorial service at 4 p.m. Integrity Funeral Services, Waterford, is serving the family.
