The Yorkville United Methodist Church choir decided to do something fun and different for Valentines Day this year.

They got word out several weeks ago that they would send singing Valentines to folk across town or across the country, via telephone.

A $10 donation included a message from the loved one who sent the singing Valentine, as well as two “love” songs, sung by the choir.

The choir received a total of 60 orders for the singing Valentines – much more than expected.

So, the choir split into two groups on Monday, making calls from Yorkville out to Texas and many more in between.

All of the calls were received with some surprise and lots of laughter and thanks.

Money raised from the singing Valentines will go to the church’s new roof fund.
