Racine County Metro Drug Unit agents raided a Vine Street apartment in Union Grove Feb. 14 after receiving a tip that marijuana was being sold out of the apartment and a vehicle.

Charged with multiple felonies after execution of their search warrant is Koy Brixius, 27.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County Circuit Court:

Brixius told drug agents who entered the apartment that he was a “small time” marijuana dealer, which he does as a last resort because he cannot find a job.

Brixius also admitted self-medicating with the prescription drug Adderrall due to being depressed over not having a job. No prescription was provided.

Agents reportedly recovered baggies containing marijuana, digital scales, several narcotic prescription pills, and a glass pipe with residue.

Brixius faces felony charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking place; two felony charges of possession of narcotic drugs; and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

If convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum of 14 years, 1 month in prison; $$40,500 in fines; or both.

Brixius was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Racine County Circuit Court on Feb. 22.
