GERALDINE HARRIS


Geraldine “Geri” Harris, 75, Burlington, died at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born Nov. 2, 1936, to that late Gerald and Camilla (Barker) Metzen in Racine where she spent her early life. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School.

On Oct. 2, 1954, she married LeRoy Donald Harris in Racine, where they lived the first part of their marriage before moving to Burlington. They owned and operated the Triangle Drive Inn for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening, but loved more than anything, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Burlington; sons, Donald (Judy) Harris, Bristol, Michael (DeNiene) Harris, San Diego, Terry (Penny) Harris, Burlington; grandchildren, Brett (Rebecca), Brandon (Valerie), Jeremiah (Sabrina), Kyle, Megan, Rachel, Brittani, Christopher, Shawn and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Silvia, Vivian, Benjamin and Evianna; a sister, Rosemary Kusters, Racine; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Carol.

She was further preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Theodore Kusters.

Funeral services were Feb. 27, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, The Rev. Jim Volkert officiated.  Memorials to the Odyssey Hospice are suggested.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Odyssey Hospices especially Kathy and Debbie, for all their TLC and compassion in caring for Geri.

The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our mother’s personal angel Jackie Robers (and her family) who loved and cared for Mom throughout her time of need.
