Clement “Clem” P. Bettinger, 89, Union Grove, died May 26, 2017. He was born Oct. 24, 1927, to the late Peter and Mary (Rinser) Bettinger in Milwaukee.
He graduated from Messmer High School. He was married to the late Lois Kahrau and they had six children together. Clem later married the late Judy Vogel on May 1, 1979, and they were married for 30 years prior to her passing.
Clem retired from the Milwaukee Police Department after 38 years of service. He moved to Union Grove 18 years ago and was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. He was great fan of all Wisconsin sports teams and enjoyed playing Pai Gou at Potawatomi Casino. He volunteered at the Shepherd’s Home in Union Grove helping out the residents there.
Survivors include his children, Michael (Anita) Bettinger, Linda Weckel, John (Rawiwan) Bettinger, James (Karen) Bettinger, and Laurie Bettinger; grandchildren, Gretchen, Andrew, Thitikan, Amber, and Aubrie; and brother, Fred (Helen) Bettinger.
He was further preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Bettinger and son-in-law, Paul Weckel.
Visitation is Friday, June 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Miller-Reesman, Kasuboski, Haas, and Dahl Funeral Home, Union Grove, is serving the family.
