The Waterford Union High School girls soccer team allowed three goals in the first half and lost 5-1 June 1 in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal match against the Panthers at Greendale.

The Wolverines end their season with an 11-11 record. Waterford went 4-4 in Southern Lakes Conference matches and finished third.

The Wolverines were seeded ninth in their regional bracket. Greendale (12-6-3) was seeded eighth. Greendale lost 5-1 to No. 1-seeded Wauwatosa East June 3 at East in the regional final.

Blascoe said Waterford changed its defensive alignment and allowed one more goal in the first half, and trailed 3-0 at halftime.

Blascoe said Waterford played better in the second half, and scored in the 60th minute on a penalty kick by Lauren Torhorst.

Torhorst finished with a single-season Waterford record of 48 goals. She scored 138 goals in her career, which places her fourth all-time in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association record book, according to Blascoe.
