RICHARD M. MADISON


Richard M. Madison, 74, Rochester, died March 10, 2012, on his 56th wedding anniversary, at LifeCare Hospital in Pewaukee.

He was born on March 13, 1937, in Franklin, to the late Myron and Phyllis (Weytens) Madison. He spent his early life in Big Bend, and attended the Ag School in Rochester. Following high school he proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves.

On March 10, 1956, in Mukwonago, he married Ilene Ragio. Following marriage they made their home in Rochester. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2010.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends at his up north retreat. His other hobbies included woodworking and fixing just about anything in his garage. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Words cannot express the sorrow we all feel at the loss of our beloved father, grandpa and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving children, Deborah (Paul) Ogrizovich, Ronald (Kathy) Madison, Connie (Randy) Siemers, Rick Madison, Jeffrey (Diane) Madison, Lisa (Jeff) Johnson, Wendy (Tom) Hanson; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Gerald “Red” (Karen) Madison, Ellen (Norman) Bishop and Patrick (Arlene) Madison.

He was further preceded in death by his brothers, Don, Eddie and Larry Madison.

Visitation is Wednesday, March 14, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services are Thursday, March 15, at 10 a.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Kristie Jaramillo will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thank you to LifeCare Hospital for all the care they provided, as well as Dr. Timothy McAvoy and Ellen Bishop for all their care, guidance and support.
