WILLIAM G. ROSENBERGER


William G. ‘Bill’ Rosenberger, 62, of Loyal, died March 8, 2012, in Arcadia, from injuries sustained in a truck accident.

He was born on July 31, 1949, in Greendale, to James and Alice (Gibbon) Rosenberger. He was raised and received his education in the Milwaukee area, graduating from Burlington Catholic Central High School in 1967. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison for a year and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville for one year.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army on Sept. 25, 1969, and served overseas in Vietnam. He received his honorable discharge on Feb. 4, 1972.

He married Sandra K. Turner on Nov. 23, 1974, in Montfort. In 1981 they bought a hobby farm south of Loyal. He was the general manager of the feed and fertilizer departments for the Cenex plant in Owen, until 2002. He later drove truck for Bugar Trucking, in Loyal, and retired in the summer of 2011.

He was a cowboy at heart and especially enjoyed horses, rodeo, his hobby farm, working in his shop and fixing things. He was a Wisconsin High School Rodeo board member for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of Loyal; daughters,  Kristy (Rodney) Terry, Elk Mound, Kelly (Daniel) Kroening, Stratford; grandchildren,  Riley and Madelynn Kroening and Braden Terry; his mother, Alice Rosenberger, Dodgeville; brothers,  Jim (Teresa) Rosenberger, Mineral Point, John Rosenberger, Hartland; sister, Mary (Steve) Peck, Mount Sterling;  nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were March 13, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Loyal. The Rev. Keith Kitzhaber officiated. Cuddie Funeral Home, in Loyal, handled arrangements.
