Casey’s rezoning request in Rochester advances to Village Board

A convenience store and gas station planned for a high-profile intersection passed the initial smell test during a Rochester panel’s recent review.

Casey’s General Store, which is making a push into Racine County with several proposed locations, is seeking village approval to construct a 4,700-square-foot store on a 2.5-acre parcel at 2728 Beck Drive, near the intersection of highways 36 and 20.

For the Casey’s development proceed, municipal officials will have to rezone the property from its current low-density residential designation to highway business district.
