      School Board members have been working more than a year to craft a referendum that addresses the Burlington Area School District’s facility needs and has a chance to garner approval of local voters on Nov. 6.

So what’s in the $43.7 million proposal and how much will it cost you? Residents have a chance to learn more as a series of open house sessions continues in the run-up to the election.

  • AUTUMN RIB FESTIVAL: The City of Burlington will host its second annual Autumn Rib Festival on Saturday at Wemhoff Square Park, where organizers have planned something for everyone. The event, Spearheaded by Mayor Jeannie Hefty, is a community fundraiser designed to help area organizations.

  • PLAYOFF BOUND: The Burlington Demons open WIAA Division 2 football playoffs on Friday. Although the team was gunning for a home game, coach Steven Tenhagen said the Demons are determined to put up a fight in their game at Brookfield East.
