Burlington

In this week’s Standard Press…

The Burlington Area School District, which saw a previous referendum fail, went back to the drawing board and presented taxpayers with a different choice in 2018.

The change won over voters during a November referendum that will allow the district to replace an aging Karcher Middle School and complete other needed repairs around the district.

The school referendum was rated among the top news stories of 2018 by the staff of the Standard Press.

Pick up a copy of this week’s Standard Press for a ranking of the top 20 news stories of 2018 and let the debate begin on which story deserves top billing:

Was it the referendum, the new pool, the state championships – for not one, but two local volleyball teams – or was it the proposals for a new performing arts center and a new indoor athletics facility?
