The Burlington High School girls soccer team had its first lead of the season, but was unable to hold onto it in a 3-1 non-conference loss to Waukesha South Thursday at South.

Tegan Rock, off an assist by Maddy Harry, put the Demon girls up 1-0 nine minutes and 53 seconds into this game.

Waukesha South tied the game at 1-1 in the 18th minute and it stayed that way until the second half.

South scored twice in the second half, in the 54th minute and the 66th minute to grab the win.

The loss drops the Demons to 0-3-1 on the season.

With no action this week, the girls’ next game will be Thursday, April 19, at Badger High School in Lake Geneva. That game will also kick off Southern Lakes Conference action for Burlington.
