JAMES T. NOLAN


James T. “Jim” Nolan, 77, Kansasville, died May 8, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints in Racine.

He was born on Aug. 26, 1934, in Burlington, to the late Stanley and Margaret (David) Nolan. He was a lifelong resident of Kansasville and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1952. He went on to attend the Farm Industry Short Course at UW–Madison.

On Feb. 19, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington, he married Annette Klein. Following marriage they made their home on the farm in Kansasville and raised five children.

He farmed both dairy and grain and was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover. He was a member of the Union Grove Lions Club, the Union Grove Knights of Columbus, a 25-year member of the Racine County Ag Society and a member of the Community Co-op Milk Truck Board of Directors, the Kansasville Fire Department and the Snow Snoopers and Penguins snowmobile clubs.

He was an usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Beef Leader for Dover 4-H. He enjoyed restoring tractors and loved to snowmobile. He also enjoyed trips to Florida and Arizona as well as the hardware store or any other destination unknown. Following retirement, he enjoyed helping his boys work on the family farm, but most of all his grandchildren were his life.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years; children, Michael (Mary) Nolan, Kansasville, Patrick Nolan, \ Burlington, Penny (David) Zabler, Kansasville, Merikay (Rick) Piette, Appleton, Beth (Chris) Olson, Kansasville; grandchildren, Jason (Jenea), Chris (Lauren), Travis Nolan, Kevin Nolan, Krissy (Adam) Silah, Brian (Florence), Eric (fianceé Nicole) Zabler, Bridget (Bob) Butler, Rachel, Shannon and Kaitlin Piette, Megan (fiancé Aaron) and Mitchell Olson; great-grandson, Landon Butler; a great-granddaughter on the way; brother, Robert (Kay) Nolan, New Berlin, a sister, Donna (Pete) Peterson, Burlington; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Henry and Minnie Belle Klein.

Visitation is Friday, May 11, from 4-8 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover with the Rev. Robert Kacalo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Dover.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Kristine Dziurzynski, Jim’s neurologist, as well as all the doctors and nurses at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital I.C.U. for all their care and compassion.
