The state Board of Commissioners of Public Lands (BCPL) recently approved State Trust Fund Loans totaling slightly more than $5.4 million to fund public purpose projects in Wisconsin communities.

Among the loans approved May 2 are $369,000 for the Town of Dover.

Dover Town Clerk/Treasurer Marilyn Rudrud explained May 8 that the town had refinanced a Kansasville Fire Department loan, taken out to fund the fire department’s building addition.

The original loan percentage is 4.25 percent from Community State Bank.

The refinanced loan percentage is 2.75 percent from the state BCPL.

As a result, the savings amount to Dover township is $14,308.98 over a four-year period, Rudrud said, which is the time remaining on the original loan with Community State Bank.

The BCPL noted that it has approved 128 loan applications totaling slightly more than $67.5 million in the last 12 months, including actions approved May 2.

The loans can be made to
municipalities and school districts for any public purpose.
