KENNETH J. LUDWIG


Kenneth J. Ludwig, 87, Union Grove, died May 23, 2012, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Home. He was born Feb. 17, 1925, to the late James and Mayme (Knoll) Ludwig in Honey Lake, where he spent his early life. He attended Cooper School and graduated from Burlington High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 through 1946.

On Sept. 27, 1946, he married Mary Jean Kramer at Cross Lutheran Church, Burlington. He was formerly employed at Burlington Brass Works and was a former member of Burlington V.F.W. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Joyce Ann (Gary) Spillane; grandchildren, Kerri (Chris) McMellan, Albert (Maggie) Spillane, Jennifer Lacy; great-grandchildren, Amanda Coburn, Nicholas (Faith) Coburn, Aaron Sean, Keather, Gary J. Spillane, Jacob Lacy; great-great-grandson, Seth Amadeus Coburn; siblings, Raymond of Burlington, Alvin (Edie) of Union Grove, David (Alice) of Burlington, Margie Busch and Ellen (Eric) Larsen of Burlington.

He was further preceded in death by brothers, James and Otto and a sister, Judith David.

A private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Union Grove, is serving the family.

The family of Kenneth have suggested memorials be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
