Explosion, fire damage home in Spring Prairie

Residents and pets appeared to escape harm

Area firefighters responded to a report of explosions Monday afternoon and found a home on fire on Clayton Court in the Paradise Valley neighborhood in Spring Prairie.

Initial reports on scene were that members the family residing in the home and their pets got out of safely.

A neighbor called 911 somewhere around 1 p.m. to report the sound of explosions. A witness said there were numerous explosions, and the fire appeared to have begun in the garage.

The garage was destroyed and the fire spread to other areas of the home.

Town of Lyons Fire Department responded initially with fire departments from the Town of Burlington, Town of Rochester, Town of East Troy and Town of Tichigan also responding to provide mutual.

Additional information on the fire was not immediately available.
