A 24-year-old man faces charges in both Milwaukee and Racine circuit courts after allegedly pawning stolen jewelry to support his heroin habit.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County Circuit Court:

Alan R. Eder, with court addresses listed in both Waterford township and Milwaukee, allegedly entered a Peninsula Road home in Waterford township April 25 by breaking a bedroom window screen and window while the homeowners were out of town.

Once inside, Eder stole numerous items of jewelry valued at more than $11,000.

A Waterford town officer investigated and obtained a copy of a report from the Greenfield Police Department, detailing the arrest of Eder for possession of heroin April 26, right after Eder allegedly sold some items to a Greenfield jewelry store.

Greenfield police told the Waterford officer that while Eder was being arrested by them for possession of heroin, he confessed to stealing the jewelry in Waterford.

• Eder is charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with felony possession of narcotic drugs in the April 26 incident. He was due in court June 6 for a scheduling conference in that matter.

• Eder is also charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with misdemeanor retail theft in an amount less than $500 as well as felony bail jumping for offenses that occurred April 25. He is due for an initial court appearance July 13 on those charges.

• Eder is charged in Racine County Circuit with one felony count of burglary of a dwelling. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in court June 13 on that charge.
