Concert series opens this week

 

The B-Town Sounds summer concert series launches its inaugural season Thursday, June 14, with a show featuring Janet Planet and the Herd of Cats.

The free concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Echo Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, beverages and food, although food and drink will also be available for purchase in the park.

The variety-oriented concert series continues every-other Thursday throughout the summer.

In addition to the main acts, the series will include local warm-up bands featuring musicians affiliated with Todd Greene Music Studios.

This year’s series sponsored by: Runzheimer, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Friends of Margaret Ann’s Place, Win Media, Todd Greene Music Studio, Rice’s Liquor & Bruiser’s Pizza, The Riverview Studio, Cintas, Canella Response Television, and Anderson Chiropractic.

Other main acts in this year’s lineup include:

June 28 – Liam Ford Band. Known nationally for nail-driving brand of danceable rock-a-billy.

July 12- Cache’: World class Puerto Rican percussionists and gritty vocals.

July 26 – Glenn Davis and Friends Band.  Seasoned bluesman.

August 9 – Jeannie Holliday. Old-school Chicago soul.

August 23 – R.A.S. Movement. Internationally renowned reggae group.

September 13 – David Stukenburg. Originally from East Troy, David and his band exemplify the best in modern music.
