NANCY E. FISH


Nancy E. Fish, 78, Burlington, died June 18, 2012, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born on Aug. 11, 1933, in Madison, to the late George and Esther (Taylor) Francisco. She spent her early life in Elkhorn and then Burlington, graduating from Burlington High School in 1951.

On March 29, 1953, in Burlington, she married Richard Fish. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1992.

She worked many years as a cook at Cooper School where she showed great compassion for the children, and that they had a good hot lunch, as well as at Reineman’s True Value. She enjoyed birds and loved gardening, and was always finding a solution to unsolved problem.

Survivors include her children, Ellen (Curt) Leibner, Burlington, Sherie Fish, Burlington, Rene Fish-Rohleder, Darien; grandchildren, Heather (George) Jeninga, Emily (Shane) Melloh, Nicholas Spallone; great-grandchildren, Annora, Micaela and Trey Howes and Carmen Jeninga.

She was further preceded in death by her sisters, Marlyn Kirsch and Georgia Engel.

Visitation is Thursday, June 21, from noon until time of services at 3 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Chaplain Larry Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Love Inc. are suggested.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Massart, the nurses and staff in the ICU and to the Burlington Rescue Squad for all the care they gave Nancy.

    Always a very interesting woman. Now she’s home w her sisters. Wish I could hav had a chance to say goodbye. She will b missed.
