MAX TSUCHIDA


Max Tsuchida, 92, Burlington, died in his sleep July 2, 2012, at Geneva Manor in Lake Geneva.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1919, in Chicago to the late Goro and Sue (Brown) Tsuchida. He spent the first part of his life in Chicago with the remainder in Burlington. He was a World War II veteran with service in the Pacific theater as a U.S. Marine.

On July 11, 1964, in Lake Geneva, he married Betty Rose Baumgartner. Following marriage they resided in Burlington while he still worked for the CTA in Chicago until retirement. She preceded him in death.

He was a member of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, cards, playing with his grandchildren, and always having a quick funny line at the ready.

Survivors include his children, Todd (Lisa) Tsuchida of Asheville, N.C., and Jill (Brett) Baldwin of Monument, Colo.; grandson, Daniel; granddaughters, Addison and Amelia; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his brother, George Tsuchida.

Visitation is Saturday, July 7, from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bob Wang officiating. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Hartson Funeral Home, Hales Corners, is handling the funeral.

Memorials to Plymouth Congregational Church have been suggested.
