SGT. CHRISTOPHER A. KUHL


SGT. Christopher A. “Chris” Kuhl, 24, Burlington, died at his home on July 21, 2012.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1988, in Burlington, to Ronald Kuhl and Christie (Hayes) Huber. He had been a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School. He went on to graduate from Gateway Technical College in criminal justice.

He proudly served his country, first as a Reservist with the 378 MI BN A CO out of Fort Sheridan and currently with the 301st MI BN out of Arizona. He was a training NCO for his company, currently serving as a Sergeant in Military Intelligence for the U.S. Army.

He worked for Burlington Auto Parts as a parts salesman. He was a lifelong Boy Scout and had been involved in high school football and mock trials.

He had a million dollar smile and an infectious laugh. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, paintballing and 4-wheeling. He loved spending time at the Boundary Waters and restoring his Camaro with his Papa.

Survivors include his parents, Christie and Dan Huber and Ronald and Lynn (Lile) Kuhl; grandparents, Marilyn Davenport and Russell Sr. “Papa” and Jacqueline “Rema” Hayes; great-grandmothers, Bernice Mogenson and Charlotte Hayes; sister, Victoria Huber; step-sister, Nicole Minshew; aunts, Tracy (Jeff) Stardy and Ronni (Peter) Endemann; uncles, Russell Jr. (Catherine) Hayes and Michael (Jennifer) Hayes; many nieces; great aunts; great uncles; cousins; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Davenport; two great-grandfathers; a great-grandmother, a great-great-grandmother and by a cousin, Sandy Schultz.

Visitation is Friday, July 27, from 4-8 p.m., followed by an 8:30 p.m., prayer vigil officiated by Chaplain Rand, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Military honors will follow the prayer vigil. A private Mass for the family will take place at St. Charles Church.

Memorials to the family to be used toward military related charitable donations are suggested.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Mike Hayes, Kurtis Lois, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and to the Burlington Police Department.
