KENNETH R. RUPERT


Kenneth R. “Ken” Rupert, 82, Union Grove, formerly of Waterford, died at Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove on Aug. 9, 2012.

He was born in Milwaukee on Jan. 18, 1930, to the late Russell and Lorena (Presteen) Rupert.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he owned and operated Rupert Construction Company in Waterford with his brother, Douglas. He was a long time member of the VFW Post in Tichigan. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, woodworking and he loved to make birdhouses. In his younger years he enjoyed taking vacations on a cruise ship.

Survivors include his sister, Nancine Cornelius of Burlington; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Douglas.

Services will be held in the chapel at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St. (Hwy. C), Union Grove, on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. Mealy Funeral Home, Inc., Waterford, is serving the family.
