BERNICE M. MULLIKIN


Bernice M. Mullikin, 84, Burlington, died Aug. 10, 2012, at Sharp Care in Oconto Falls, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1927, in South Dakota to the late Harry and Leola (Niccolai) Moser. She spent her early life and received her education in South Dakota.

On Feb. 26, 1951, in Denton, Texas, she married Sidney Young who preceded her in death on June 6, 1989. She later married Warren Mullikin on Sept. 26, 1992, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burlington, He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2007. Following their marriage Warren and Bernice lived in Missouri before returning to Burlington in 2003. She had been a resident of Burlington for 50 years.

She worked at Nestles, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved camping, traveling, crocheting and entertaining family and friends. Family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Dianne (Paul) Syring, Oconto Falls, Sidney (Kris) Young, Harwood Heights, Ill., Cloess ‘Cookie’ (Daniel) Breuckman, Burlington; grandchildren, Jeff (Cindy) Syring, Jayme (Ken) Keith, Bob (Melanie) Young, Brian (Cheryl) Young, Brad Young, Bridgett Young, and Jason (Angie) Wood; great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Jacob, Maxwell, Sidney, JaLyn, Mitchell, and Markel; great-great-grandchildren, Chloe and Mckenna; her siblings, Larry (Lorraine) Moser, Millie (Ronald) Roland, and Iona Baumeister; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brother, Jack Moser, and sisters, Bonnie Campbell, Kay Smyle, and Rosemary Peterson.

Visitation is Thursday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Good Sheppard Chapel at St. Mary’s. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. James Volkert will officiate. Interment will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, Burlington, is serving the family.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Pine Brook Pointe and Sharp Care for all the care and support they gave Bernice over the years.
