Two close losses to Southern Lakes Conference teams over the past week dropped the Burlington High School girls’ golf team to 1-3 in SLC action this fall.

The Demon girls lost by just two strokes 208-210 to Waterford Tuesday at Rivermoor Golf Club, and by four strokes, 197-201, to Union Grove on Thursday at Browns Lake Golf Course.

In the Waterford dual, senior Sarah Eulgen won medalist honors by carding a 48 on the par-37 back nine at Rivermoor.

Senior Tess Lavieri turned in a 51, sophomore Ellen Stang a 53, and senior Jenn Stevens a 58.

The fifth Demon golfer was sophomore Danni Robers with a 61.

In the Union Grove loss, Lavieri, Stang and Stevens all posted 50s, with Robers adding a 51 on the par-35 back nine at Browns Lake.

Eulgen carded a 56.

“This was our best meet of the year so far as score goes,” head coach Wayne Herrick said. “We still need to improve our short game. We gave too many strokes up due to some poor chipping. Putting was not too bad, though.”

Burlington will host Lake Geneva Badger today at Browns Lake Golf Course.
