CAROL J. BISHOP


Carol J. Bishop, 83, Burlington, died Oct. 30, 2012, at Lakeland Health Care Center, Elkhorn. She was born on Oct. 23, 1929, in Racine, to the late Henry ‘Harry’ and Esther (Mahnke) Krupp. She spent her early years in Racine before moving to Burlington. She attended Racine public schools and graduated high school in 1947.

She was a secretary for the Burlington Area School District for 23 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church where she participated in the church choir, the Hand Bell Choir and the Naomi Circle. She was also a member of the Riverport Chorus and Sweet Adelines. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and baking.

Survivors include her children, Thomas (Gail) Bishop, Burlington, Jean (Wayne) Mikrut, Genoa City; grandchildren, Danielle and Adam Bishop, Lauren (Jon) Harrigan and Lindsey and Leah Mikrut; niece, Dianne (Michael) Brennand; and nephew, James (Judith) Krupp.

She was further preceded in death by a brother Richard Krupp; sisters-in-law, Janith Krupp, Beth Krupp; and a niece, Barbara Jajtner.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 2, from 5 p.m., until time of services at 7 p.m., at Cross Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carolyn Sellers will officiate. Private burial will take place at Burlington Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, Burlington, is serving the family.

Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are suggested.
