It was not a good night Tuesday in Mukwonago for the Waterford Union High School boys and girls basketball teams.

The Wolverines played a girls/boys doubleheader versus the Indians and dropped both contests.

The girls went first and dropped a 60-46 decision to Mukwonago, and the boys followed with a 49-36 loss.

In the girls game, Waterford struggled in the second quarter, scoring just four points. Mukwonago, meanwhile, extended its lead from five points after the first quarter to a 31-15 halftime advantage.

The Wolverines never recovered, though they did score 23 points in the final stanza.

Senior captain Megan Jensen led the Wolverines with 14 points, including three second-half 3-pointers.

Madison Blair pitched in 12 points and Tiffany Stiewe seven, while Jaycie Chart had a team-best six rebounds.

Mukwonago had three players in double figures in the contest, with Bre Cera leading the way with 15 points.

It was a similar theme in the boys contest, though Waterford’s shooting woes lasted the entire first half as the Wolverines scored just seven points – including just one in the second quarter.

Trailing 21-7 at the half, Waterford found a little bit more of a scoring touch in the third and fourth quarters, posting 18 and 11 points, respectively.

Brandon Schindler led the Wolverines with 12 points, while Tanner Hunsucker added seven and Chris Benavides six.

Payton Graham led all scorers with 17 points.
