MARIANNE E. JANTE

 

Marianne E. Jante (Wolf) died Oct. 20, 2011, at River Way Place in West Bend.

She was born in Burlington, on Oct. 21, 1922, to the late Theodor and Hedwig (Cropp) Wolf. She married Donald Jante on June 24, 1942, in Rochester, They spent 52 wonderful years together before his death in 1995.

She graduated from Racine County Ag School in Rochester, and continued to work in the office for a few years. She also worked for many years as Registrar for the Racine County Teachers College in Union Grove.

They raised their family on farms in the Union Grove and Yorkville areas. In 1973, they moved to Tomahawk where they bought a Gambles Hardware store, which later changed to Tomahawk Furniture and Appliance.

Don always liked to travel and Marianne was happy to join in the adventures. Their travels included much of the U.S., Jamaica, Bahamas, Hawaii and Hong Kong. They created many wonderful memories together.

Marianne moved back to Burlington in 2004 and then to West Bend in 2009.

Survivors include her children, Dale and Ellen Jante, Union Grove, Diane and  Fred Schaejbe, West Bend, Barbara Oelke, Wausau; grandchildren, Kris (Mark) Kruzicki, Green Bay, Laurie (Scott) Henkel, Franklin, Lisa (Rick) Malsch, Oak Creek, Jamie (Matt) Lechner, Fond du Lac, Mike (Jessica) Jante, West Bend, Jessica (Bill) Fandrey, Wausau, Tim Oelke, Schofield; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alex, Emily, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Griffin, Abigail, Aubrie, Matthew, Addicus and Amelia; her  sisters, Ruth Kreilkamp, Union Grove and Betty Hartig, Racine; brother-in-law, Glen (Elsie) Jante, Burlington; sister-in-law, June Schaefer; brother-in-law, Richard Robers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was further preceded in death by her sister, Hilde Robers; brother and sister-in-law, Irv and Carol Wolf; brothers-in-law, Harry Hartig, Robert Kreilkamp and John Schaefer; and great-granddaughter, Tapenga.

A very heartfelt thank you to the exceptional and loving staff at River Way Place in West Bend for the care you gave Mom.

Visitation is Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m., at Yorkville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Yorkville Cemetery. Miller-Reesman Funeral Home, Union Grove, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt or Milwaukee YMCA to benefit the Parkinson’s Exercise Program are suggested.
