Mark Dudzik EDITOR
A Burlington businessman is the Wisconsin Small-Business Person of the Year as named by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Craig Faust, president and CEO of Hi-Liter Graphics, was bestowed the honor after being chosen from a field of business leaders across the state.
In addition to owning Hi-Liter Graphics, which he purchased in 2003, Faust is also the president and CEO of Inland Graphics, Plus Digital Print and All American Graphics. The four companies are operated under the umbrella company HGI Company LLC.
Faust is also current president of the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce.
Faust was quick to disperse the credit for the accomplishments of his companies that helped secure his selection for the award.
"It is the team that makes it happen," he said. "Our people and their exceptional efforts have made the company strong."
In honor of his selection, Faust will be invited to an award ceremony that will be held June 5 in Waukesha.
In addition, Faust will be asked to join 52 other small business leaders from around the country and Guam, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia in the nation's capitol the weekend of May 18-20 for the agency's small business week.
His selection as the top businessman in the state puts Faust in contention for the National Small Business Person of the year award, which is slated to be announced at the national conference.
The award is hardly the first for Faust, who around this same time last year was presented with the 2008 Family Friendly Business award by the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce in conjunction with Family Service of Racine and the Strengthening Families Task Force.
