ADELINE DEIST


Adeline Deist, 94, Burlington, died Feb. 24, 2012, at Kindred Nursing and Rehab facility, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 1, 1917, to the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Macht) Perkl in Pittsville, where she spent her early life. She graduated from St. Joachims High School.

On Dec. 26, 1945, she married the late Frank E. Deist at St. Leos Church. Following marriage they moved to East Troy. He preceded her in death in 2002.

During World War II she worked at a factory on the chain belt and was known as Rosie the Riveter. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bird watching and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Alvin) Lois, Burlington; son, Robert (Terri) Deist, Madison; grandchildren, Melinda (Ernest) Perez, Christina (Michael) Reynolds, Eric (Tina) Lois, Ben Deist; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Cody, Holly, Alexia, Allison, Nathan and Payton; a brother, Louis Perkl; sisters, Bobbie Dahlinger, Noreen (Jim) Treutel, Nita Spadaro and Betty Woodkey.

She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Edward and Henry; and sisters, Lillian, Beatrice and Carol.

Mass of Christians Burial was celebrated Feb. 27, at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve Amann officiated. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, Burlington, assisted the family.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the wing 1 staff including nurses and CNAs, kitchen staff and the maintenance crew. They also appreciated and are grateful for the Evercare and Family Care Programs provided to them in caring for Adeline.
