JAMES E. THOMAS


James E. “Jim” Thomas, 94, Waterford, died Feb. 6, 2012, at Lakeland Hospital, Elkhorn. He was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Calhoun, now known as Waukesha, to the late Walter and Agnes (Loursen) Thomas. He spent his early life in East Troy and later proudly served his country in World War II in the Army.

He married Frances Troha in Joplin, Mo. They lived in East Troy and for the past 42 years in the Town of Rochester. He was retired from Waste Management. His passions were horse trading and spending time in his garden.

Survivors include his wife, Waterford; children, Jim, Union Grove, Chuck (Jan), Kansas, Dennis, Waterford, Cathleen (Robert) Faerber and Deb (Fred) Clausing, Raymond; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Joy, Marshfield; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by brothers, Roger, Glen, Doug and Marshall.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 10, from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford. The Rev. Gene Doda will officiate. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery following services.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to any Veterans service organization.

    He was a very nice man with a great scence of humor. We lived near him a very long time ago and remember his family well. They were all very hard working people. I am sure he will be missed alot. Rest in Pease Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
