MARJORIE C. MAY


Marjorie C. May, 77, Burlington, died March 7, 2012, at the Aurora VNA Zilber Hospice Home in Wauwatosa.

She was born Dec. 27, 1934, to the late Leo and Alice (Scoville) Isferding in Burlington. She was a lifetime resident of Burlington and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

On Nov. 20, 1954, she married the late Cletus May at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She enjoyed painting and teaching classes at Woodcrafters, gardening, baking and playing cards with her card club. She also enjoyed both feeding and watching the birds in the back yard. She loved to travel, especially with her family. She greatly treasured her time as a homemaker and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Steven (Shari) May, Columbus, Ohio, Kathy May, Broadhead, Carolyn (David) Wilson, Minocqua, Jim May, Burlington, Linda (Robert) Kendall, Lyons, Tom May, Burlington, Scott (Michelle) May, Delavan, Joan (Keith) Schmidt, Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Brian, Bill, Emily, Cameron, Matthew, Patrick, Cody, Abbey and Austin; her brother, Russell (Helen) Isferding, Sheboygan; brothers-in-law, Robert (Carole) May, Lake Geneva, and Ralph (Dorothy) May, Burlington.

She was further preceded in death by her infant son, Danny; and sister, Joan Lois.

Memorial services were March 12, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington. Inurnment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lyons.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses of St. Luke’s in Milwaukee and the Aurora Zilber Hospice Home in Wauwatosa for their care and compassion.
