CAROLYN J. MICK

      Carolyn “Lynn” J. Mick, 81, of East Troy, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, at Pine Brook Point. Born on Jan. 24, 1939, in Hamburg, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Emil and Erna (nee Kemmer) Morken.

Her early life was spent in Maddock, North Dakota, where she graduated from Benson County Agricultural School. She also lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Chicago.

On Nov. 9, 1963, at St. Mary Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Adrian C. May. Adrian preceded her in death on July 9, 1979.

On Dec. 22, 1984, at Cross Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Robert S. Mick. After marriage, they built a home together and relocated to East Troy.

Lynn worked as a secretary for a brokerage company in Burlington, and when she was younger was a nursing assistant at hospitals in St. Paul and Chicago. Her most important job, however, was being a homemaker and mother. Where she would brag, “that she had four daughters in three and a half years.”

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church while in Burlington and then a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in East Troy.

Lynn was an avid snow skier and enjoyed motorcycling, dancing, camping, travelling and wintering in Texas. She liked socializing and spending time with friends and family playing Euchre and Cribbage and belonged to two card clubs. She also liked to read and do crossword puzzles.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Robert Mick; daughters (which are named alphabetically), Allyson (Dave) Doerflinger, Brenda (Bob) Wright, Carmen May and DyAnna (Paul) May-Dujardin; grandchildren, Jessica Doerflinger, David Doerflinger, Bailey Wright, Bridgette Wright, Bennett Wright, Brooke Wright, Adrian Dujardin, Lauren Dujardin and Sawyer Dujardin; siblings, Jim Morken and Bernice Zygowicz; and sister-in-laws, Genevieve (John) Jenson, Eunice Bethke, Helen (Phillip) Bell, Clarice Morken and Eilleen Morken.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Adrian May; siblings, Clinton, Ervin, Jerry, and Donald Morken, Sam (James) Camp; and brother and sister-in-laws, Dolores Morken, Louis Bethke, Liz (Lyle) Dill, Helen (Norbert) Poepping, Bernice (Robert) Mitchell and Germaine (Leo) Henningfield.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Brook Pointe Memory Care, Waterford Senior Living and Aurora at Home Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or St. Mary Catholic Church.

Lynn will be laid to rest next to her first husband Adrian at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Burlington, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is assisting the family.
