JANET A. HENSGEN SCHOLBE

      Janet A. Hensgen Scholbe (nee Johncox), a life-long resident of Caldwell in the Town of Waterford, was born into eternal life on April 11, 2020 at the age of 96. She graduated from Waterford High School in 1941 and from Carroll College in 1945.

Janet married Michael J. Hensgen on Oct. 5, 1946 at the Caldwell Methodist Church. They were married for 36 years until Michael’s passing in 1982. She remarried Harold Scholbe in 1984 and they were companions for 25 years until his death in 2009.

Janet was the loving mother of Michael (Denise) Hensgen, Patricia (Robin) Tomczyk, Stephen (Jennifer) Hensgen, and Thomas (Mary) Hensgen; proud grandmother of Michael (Erin) Hensgen Jr., Kathryn (Michael) Allen, Ryan (Nikki) Tomczyk, Stacey (Matt) Emanuel, Daniel (Brittany) Hensgen, Shawn Hensgen, Amanda Hensgen, Jessica Hensgen, and Rachel Hensgen; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister Barbara (James) Stark; brother Robert Johncox, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Jane Spires.

Janet was a life-long member of the Caldwell Methodist Church, serving as treasurer for many years and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed knitting, was awarded many grand championships at the Wisconsin State Fair and knitting stocking caps for newborns at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She loved to do her daily crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was a 4-H volunteer, involved in Mukwonago American Legion Auxiliary and Caldwell Methodist church activities including the long-time church treasurer. She loved attending the various activities of her family.

The family wishes to thank Elizabeth Residence and Regency Senior Living for their wonderful caregiving.

Private family burial will be at Caldwell Cemetery.
