MARCIA A. KERR

Marcia A. Kerr, 55, of Burlington, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at UW Health University Hospital in Madison.

Marcia was born in Racine on Sept. 11, 1964, to William and Elizabeth Rysdam. Her early life was spent in Burlington, where she graduated Burlington High School.

On May 23, 1987 at United Methodist Church in Burlington, she was united in marriage to Kevin Kerr. Following marriage, they continued to make Burlington their home, of which she was a life-long resident.

Marcy was a stay-at-home mom during her children’s early years. She volunteered at the local schools as the “popcorn lady”. She was active in helping wherever needed. When her boys were in Scouts she took an active roll in leadership there. She took on several part time jobs as the kids grew which would accommodate their schedules. Later, she became a bus driver for Thomas Bus Service and eventually added “lunch lady” to her duties. These jobs were important to her because it gave her the flexibility to spend the most time with her children. Every sport the children became involved in, Marcy was there to cheer them on, and would always volunteer as a parent where needed. Marcy enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, counted cross stitch, puzzles, making Monster Cookies, and creating her one of a kind pizza for family and friends. But most of all, Marcy loved her children and lived to give them every benefit she could. Her children were her life.

Marcy is survived by her husband, Kevin; parents, William and Elizabeth Rysdam; mother-in-law Margie Kerr; children, Benjamin, Ethan and Mariah (Nick Olson) Kerr; siblings, Victor (Tammy) Rysdam and Melissa (Mark) Kelnhofer; sisters-in-law, Karyn (David) Borucki and Kim (Scott) Dixon; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Marcy was preceded in death by her father-in-law Joe Kerr.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at UW Health University Hospital in Madison for their care and compassionate attention to Marcy during this time.
