Letter: Community steps up for reporter’s family

We would like to thank everyone from the community who showed up to support the Friends of Mark Dudzik benefit.

A special thank you goes out to the staff at Southern Lakes Newspapers who spent countless hours organizing and then hosting this benefit event.

Thank you to Veterans Terrace for donating the use of their beautiful facility; Gooseberries, Sentry, Piggly Wiggly, Wal-Mart and Best Bargains for donating the delicious food; Douglas Allen Richmond, Saved by Grace and 1881 who donated their time to provide the great musical entertainment.

Also, thanks to the many businesses and individuals who donated silent auction items, raffle and door prizes, and for those who purchased items during the event or donated money directly to the benefit fund.  Your generous contributions to this benefit is greatly appreciated.

We are truly grateful for the tremendous support and many prayers we have received over the past two months.  Please continue to pray for Mark and our family during this most difficult time, as we continue on through his road to a complete recovery with many hours of therapy and rehabilitation ahead.

Mark would have jumped at the opportunity to write this difficult but uplifting story, to present to the community a positive side of things in how a community pulled together to help a family in need, and ironically this is his story.  He truly enjoyed what he did and will try in every way to return to his role as your reporter and editor.
